Carillon – the flight of time: opening Cultura Nova
A rotating metal tower six metres tall, criss-crossed with 600 metres of electric cable sets the stage for Carillon – the flight of time. This spectacular performance by Italian theatre troupe Kitonb marks the opening of Cultura Nova.
The urban open-air show will take you on a dream-like journey through the universe. The acrobatic dancers of Kitonb move effortlessly through the tower and tell a visual story, with the four seasons as their guiding theme. The dancing and acrobatics are accompanied by a powerful soundtrack from different time periods and cultures, varying from electronica to sung mantras and from orchestral fugues to primal voices.
Italian artist Angelo Bonello directed Carillon. He founded Kitonb twenty years ago with Alberta Nunziante. Several years later, they left the stage to devote themselves fully to creating and producing spectacular shows. Carillon has been performed in 200 cities and more than 30 countries worldwide. Thousands of spectators have been dazzled by the surrealistic images, the dizzying leaps, and the spectacular effects. Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in a theatre performance about a world on the verge of self-destruction that manages to haul itself back from the brink and enter a new era.
